her. Ann waited. In 1815, her twin sister, Mary was married
to Richard Queen. Finally, on January 3, 1818, the feast of St.
Genevieve, Ann entered the monastery and received the
religious name of Genevieve.
No one could have anticipated the adventurous life
that lay ahead. After all, Visitation nuns led a semi-cloistered
life and were not known as missionaries. But a missionary
Ann would become and, by happenstance, be the first of our
ancestors to make St. Louis, Missouri home.
